MISAKI LAMP / LIMITED EDITION
These lamps are a Limited Edition in Collaboration with Blue Light Junction
Our new Misaki Lamps are hand-dyed with locally grown natural indigo from Blue Light Junction, an experimental dye garden in Baltimore City.
This hand-folded linen shade has an open bottom that provides an extra flow of down lighting in addition to the general ambient light. When turned on this lamp shows an interesting hidden pattern produced during the process of dying.
For this first Limited edition, only four shades are available. When working with the hand-dying process, an element of the unexpected is always present, and the shades are slightly different from each other and beautifully unique.
ABOUT BLUE LIGHT JUNCTION:
Founded by textile artist, farmer, and natural dyer Kenya Miles, Blue Light Junction is focused on growing, processing, and preserving the history of natural dyes and their artistic, practical, and commercial applications.
This experimental dye garden lead by Kenya Miles and Rosa Sungji Chang started its first season in 2019. Since then, they have produced small batches of natural dye products, committed to the cultivation, exploration, and preservation of natural dyes and sustainable practices both regionally and globally.
For this limited edition, 20% of the sale will go to support Blue Light Junction initiative.
